My Comments Banned By MSNBC

Greetings and Salutations to All my Kith and Kin and All the Ships in Outer Space:

Here is an article I attempted to respond to at the MSNBC web site.

However, my response was denied because it contained "language which was prohibited".

Strangely, MSNBC did not tell me what they meant, so I don't know what it was I wrote that MSNBC considered objectionable or wanted me to edit.

So, I'm posting it in my own blog.

Here is the news report:

DEPORTED GERMAN WOMAN A WAR CRIMINAL: NAZI HUNTER

0737 Hours Eastern Time, Thursday 21 September 2006

By: Erik Kirschbaum

BERLIN (Reuters)
An eighty-three year old German woman deported from the United States for concealing her Nazi past as a concentration camp guard is a war criminal and should be prosecuted, the Simon Wiesenthal Center said on Thursday.
Efraim Zuroff, head of the agency that tracks Nazis, said that United States authorities deserved praise for their diligence in finding Elfriede Lina Rinkel, who reportedly never told her late husband, a concentration camp survivor, of her past.
The United States Justice Department said this week, Rinkel, who went to the United States in Nineteen Fifty-Nine, admitted she had served as a guard at the Ravensbrueck concentration camp for women north of Berlin for the last ten months of the Second World War.
She was deported to Germany earlier this month.
"She is a war criminal, she volunteered to work as a guard and walked around the camp watching over inmates with an attack dog," Zuroff said in a telephone interview from Jerusalem.
"There's no room for misplaced sympathy.
I hope Germans will prosecute her."
A spokeswoman for the German Justice Ministry in Berlin said they had not yet received any formal notification about Rinkel's deportation.
She added, however, the authorities would be investigating if there were any grounds for suspicion of crimes.
Rinkel has reportedly returned to stay with a sister in a town near Duesseldorf, but local authorities said they have no records of her registering with police as required.
Kurt Schrimm, state prosecutor and head of the Ludwigsburg central agency for clarification of Nazi war crimes, said he was informed about Rinkel by United States authorities, but the agency had no records of the woman, whose maiden name was Huth.
"We've searched our archives but don't have anything on her," said Schrimm, whose agency has investigated one hundred thousand cases and helped prosecutors in more than six thousand cases.
Zuroff said that the Wiesenthal Center also did not have any archive material on Rinkel, who according to the charging document filed in United States Immigration Court in San Francisco, used a trained attack dog to carry out her duties.
He said the United States Justice Department's Office of Special Investigations deserved credit for finding Rinkel, who according to the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper had never told her husband, a Jew who fled Nazi Germany, about her Nazi past.
Zuroff said the case was extraordinary for two reasons:
Rinkel is a woman and married a concentration camp survivor.
"It doesn't happen every day," he said.
"But it is not uncommon that the closest relatives of people who served in Nazi units will not know what their loved ones did.
This is the most difficult punishment for many - - -when their families learn what they really did during the war."

The Reuters News Service has done a very poor job of reporting, and MSNBC should not have put this story on their web site without first doing some follow-up investigation.

In reading the article, I see no evidence presented indicating any war crime.

From what I can see, she apparently was an ordinary soldier serving on the losing side during a war.

Is the Simon Weisenthal Center stooping to pursuing common ordinary soldiers merely because they can't find anyone else to blame?

Where does it stop?

When is it enough, already?

For those who have never served, but are still so smugly sanctimonious as to parrot the phrase, "'I was only following orders' is no excuse", I can tell you that if'n you ain't "been there, done that", then you ain't nothing but an ignorant lying hypocrite.

The ordinary common soldier has no choice.

Soldiers don't get to choose where they'll serve or what job they'll do.

If a soldier refuses an order, they face court-martial, and as all soldiers know, during time of war, retribution can include summary execution.

That's true in the United States Army, it's true in the Israeli Army, and you'd better believe it was true in the Whermacht.

If there is no evidence of a war crime, why was she deported from the United States?

Talk about media bias and political correctness!

Shame, shame, SHAME - - - on the Simon Weisenthal Center, the United States government (MY own country!!!), Reuters News Service, and the MSNBC web site!!!

How are we any different from the Nazis we so cavalierly condemn?

Guess what, folks?

I'm a convicted war criminal - - - and proud of it!

At a time when it was unpopular and controversial to do so, I chose to enter the United States Army and voluntarily served two years in Viet Nam.

So, according to the International People's Tribunal, convened in Nineteen Sixty-Seven by Lord Bertrand Russell in Stockholm, Sweden, I and every other American soldier who served in Viet Nam is guilty of a war crime.

Ain't that neat?

I'm so proud!

But, all joking aside, it's a vivid nightmare that happened to our allies after the United States abandoned the Republic of Viet Nam in Nineteen Seventy-Five, for they wound up being on the losing side of a war, and the Communists ain't nice to the people they conquer.

My own United States broke their promise, and the South Vietnamese paid the price.

Now then, if there is no evidence of war crimes, then where is the justice for this poor elderly German female war veteran whose character has been so maliciously libeled in the International press, and whose life and liberty are now in jeopardy?

How do we repair the damage that has so unduly been foisted upon her?

Thank you.

Elvis Presley and "THE BOOK OF MORMON"

Greetings and Salutations to All my Kith and Kin and All the Ships in Outer Space:

I just now visited the web site of "MERIDIAN", a magazine for members of the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints (i.e., the so-called "Mormon" church).

They have a very interesting report, including video from KTVX-TV Channel 4, in Salt Lake City, Utah, about Elvis Presley meeting full-time LDS missionaries and being given a copy of "THE BOOK OF MORMON".

Here is the magazine article:

******************

RIVERTON MAN GAVE ELVIS A BOOK OF MORMON DURING FILMING OF "BLUE HAWAII"

Story by: Susan Wood
susan@abc4.com

An interesting connection is surfacing about Elvis Presley's interest in the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints.

Several people claim to have given him a copy of the "BOOK OF MORMON".

One was Riverton's Mike Corfield, who was serving a Latter-day Saint mission on the Island of Kauai in Nineteen Sixty-One.

That's when Elvis was there filming the movie, "BLUE HAWAII".

The twenty year old missionary and his companion went to find Elvis on location.

Among the crew was another member of the LDS Church who recognized the missionaries.

He invited them to meet Elvis.

After talking for about five minutes, Elder Corfield gave Elvis a copy of the "BOOK OF MORMON".

Corfield says, "We also invited him to come to church with us that Sunday.

He declined, saying he had to work.

But he was really nice and accepted the 'BOOK OF MORMON'."

As Elvis fans know, he had a strong spiritual side.

Utah filmmakers are working on a movie right now depicting his interest in the "BOOK OF MORMON".

They feature a copy of the book held in the LDS Church archives.

It reportedly has Elvis' notes in the margins of the copy.

The movie, "TEARS OF A KING", is expected to be released next year.

Corfield doesn't know whether this is the copy he gave Elvis back in Nineteen Sixty-One, but he's proud to have given him the book.

He says, "I felt he was interested in it.

I felt at some time, he'd take the opportunity to learn more about the gospel, especially the 'BOOK OF MORMON'."

******************

The most significant part of that news report, for me, was evidence that Elvis Presley actually STUDIED the "BOOK OF MORMON", as indicated by the notes he wrote in the margins.

Gosh, gee whillikers, in Nineteen Sixty-One, I was living in El Paso, Texas, and a freshman at Stephen F. Austin High School.

Mama gave me piano lessons at home, but she ordered me to quit.

I loved to experiment with imitating or creating Rock 'n' Roll sounds, but every time I finished playing, Mama and Daddy had to call someone to tune the piano.

That was costing too much money.

When my piano lessons stopped, that also ended my lessons in reading music.

So, I had to teach myself, writing lyrics and memorizing all melodies, which I perform "by ear", only now, I prefer my guitar for everything.

Obviously, if you can't read music, then everything you compose and everything you learn has to stored in your head, right?

Anyway, we'll definitely have to look forward to this new movie, "TEARS OF A KING".

Thank you.

DATE: Tuesday 12 September 2006

SCOTLAND'S clans are famed the world over for their tartans and traditions, but they have another, often overlooked but illuminating, symbol of their heritage.

The family motto, which often features on the personal coats of arms held by the clan chiefs, are thought to have originated as battle cries in medieval times.

Whether they were written in Scots, Gaelic, French, Latin, or English, all clearly aim to instill a deep sense of pride in the traditions of a particular family or clan.

While a few families, like the Brodies or Camerons, share the simple motto "Unite", most try to encapsulate their strengths and virtues.

Not surprisingly, many emphasise the courage and bravery needed to go into battle.

For example, the potentially foolhardy "Danger is sweet" is the motto of the MacAulays, while the Gunn family motto, "Either peace or war", sounds almost as belligerent.

The Robertson motto, "Glory is the reward of valour", inspires with thoughts of victory.

Other mottoes are concerned with the patience needed to survive adversity.

The Lindsays urge their family to "Endure with strength", while the MacIntyres stress their dogged determination with "Per ardua" or "Through difficulties".

Some families acknowledge that bravery comes from overcoming fear, like the MacNabs' motto "Let fear be far from all".

Others focus on intelligence or cunning rather than brute strength, such as the Erskines' "I think more".

Many mottoes also extol the virtues of faith, or even fear, in God, for example the Munros' "Dread God", while the Craig family urges, "Live for God and you shall have life".

Meanwhile the McKinnons prefer to acknowledge that luck, and not only God, also needs to be on your side as, "Fortune assists the daring".

The idea of serving ones king and country appeal to some clans, while others appear less enamoured of their rulers.

The McGregors' motto, "Royal is my race", refers to their claim to be descended from Griogar, son of Alpin, a king of Dalriada, while the Henderson motto, "Virtue alone ennobles", gives an altogether different perspective.

A few mottoes also have stories behind them.

The Cunningham motto, "Over fork over," stems from the legend that a Cunningham hid King Malcolm III and covered him with hay.

The motto of the Clan MacPherson with its modern-day translation urges its clanspeople to "Touch not the cat without a glove".

But if there is one Scottish family motto that needs little or no explanation, it must be that of the Wallaces: "For Freedom".

The Wallace motto will be forever associated with the film, "BRAVEHEART ".

Ain't that so neat?

Because that article was written by a native Scottish lassie, it's particularly interesting to notice the slight differences in how words are spelled in the British Isles and how those same words are spelled in the United States of America.

I encourage you to visit both "THE BLOOD IS STRONG" discussion forum and the "SCOTSMAN" web site and post your own opinions regarding that news report.

Greetings and Salutations to All my Kith and Kin and All the Ships in Outer Space:

On Monday 11 September 2006, at the YAHOO! web site, Sammyleggs222 posed the following question for general discussion:

"We will all remember 11 September 2001.

"What were you doing when you heard about it and how did you feel at that moment?

"I was getting ready for my college teaching day and my oldest son came up stairs and told me that New York City was being attacked and the World Trade Center was burning.
"I didn't believe him.
"So I went to the kitchen where he was watching television and saw the news coverage for one minute before the second plane slammed into Tower Two.
I was totally shocked, sick and numb - - - "

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

"I am thankful to all who are sharing their memories and thoughts on 11 September 2006 - - - at this point there are so far four hundred twenty-six (426) comments and/or stories.

"I plan to read them all.
"We will never forget this horrendous deed as we pray for the heroes, the innocent people who died and the families they left behind on that day five years ago."
*******************
*******************
Here was my response:
I was serving a rather unorthodox full-time mission for the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints (i.e., the "Mormon" church), as a gunslinger, with my partner, "Ringo", a border collie dog, patrolling the "ROCKING G" cattle ranch on the banks of the Green River in Jensen, Utah.

On the morning of 11 September 2001, I staggered from my bed to my computer to check my e-mail.

One of the e-mails was from somebody I didn't recognize, saying "we should all donate blood".

Another very strange e-mail from another person I didn't recognize said something about a "car bomb in front of the State Department", and that there were lots of injuries.

So, I went to the Drudge Report web site, and what I saw made me think that the Drudge Report web site had been hacked, and somebody was playing a very sick joke on the Internet.

The Drudge Report web site showed a photograph of a jet airliner crashing into a skyscraper, and headline after headline referred to horrendous airline skyjackings, crashes, and multitudes of deaths.

So, being suspicious of what I was seeing at the Drudge Report web site, I turned on my television and watched the live reports, while flipping from channel to channel.

The televised images with the greatest impact on my mind were when the man and woman holding hands leapt to their death from the burning towers.

I had great interest in the crash at the Pentagon because I am a retired disabled war veteran, and prior to going to Utah to serve my Church mission, I had been living in Washington, D.C. at the United States Soldiers' and Airmen's Home (since renamed the Armed Forces Retirement Home), and after my Church mission was successfully completed, I returned to the Soldiers' Home in Washington, D.C.

While guarding the ranch, I continued exchanging e-mails with my buddies who were living at the United States Soldiers' and Airmen's Home.

They informed me that four (04) members of the Board of Governors of the United States Soldiers' and Airmen's Home had been killed when the plane crashed into the Pentagon.

They also told me that two (02) huge garbage trucks or dump trucks were parked at the main gate of the Soldiers' Home, to block any speeding vehicles from crashing through onto the grounds.

By the way, no matter how many times the official name gets changed, virtually everybody in the District of Columbia megalopolis area continues to call this place the "Soldiers' Home".

Via e-mail, my buddies also kept me apprised of the anthrax and ricin attacks, which caused lots of problems with delivery of U.S. "snail" mail to residents at the Soldiers' Home.

For instance, they (and I, after I returned) couldn't receive financial statements in time to file income taxes and pay bills, or mail that was received would be unreadable because of radiation burns resulting from preventive scanning.

To try and solve the problem, the zip code for the Soldiers' Home was changed at least three (03) times, and now everything is pretty much back to normal.

I remember watching on television, President Bush addressing the joint session of Congress.

I remember he said this war was different from all others, because we might not see the end of it in our lifetimes, and that this war would be global and largely clandestine, with many heroes whom we would never know about, because of secrecy.

So, I'm surprised that American citizens act so foolishly and exhibit such short memories, thinking and demanding the war should already be over and won, and that we should know all the details.

On the other hand, I will never patronize another airport or fly on a commercial airliner, nor will I ever again visit a public building in Washington, D.C., such as the White House or Capitol.

No, I'm not afraid of terrorism.

It's just the opposite.

I think it's criminally irresponsible and so typical of government tyranny (Communists, Nazis, Fascists, or whatever) that our elected and appointed officials deliberately use the attacks of 11 September 2001 as an excuse for depriving American citizens of their inalienable rights guaranteed by the "CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES", which is supposed to be the supreme law of the land.

I'm a strong believer of the basic principle that American citizens would be safer if EVERYBODY wore a loaded firearm everywhere they went, including while flying on commercial airliners or visiting Washington, D.C.

How will we individual American citizens get our freedom restored?

What can we do to punish those bureaucrats and politicians who have usurped powers not authorized by our "CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES"?

How many Americans today know the definition of "inalienable rights"?

So, what are your thoughts regarding this event?
What do you rememember about 11 September 2001, and how were you personally affected?
Do you perceive a threat to our personal liberty from our own government?
Thank you.

Greetings and Salutations to All my Kith and Kin and All the Ships in Outer Space:

Ah, yes, I've been watching television and EVERYBODY and their dog is going to be appropriately mourning this coming Monday, the fifth anniversary of 11 September 2001.

And don't forget - - - the flag is supposed to be displayed at half-mast on that occasion.

The proper way to do it is to raise the flag to the top of the pole and then lower it to half-mast.

When taking it down, remember to RAISE the flag from half-mast to the top of the pole before bringing it all the way down.

I only mention that because so many of our patriotic traditions are falling by the wayside, due to general ignorance or apathy.

I mean, - - - like, - - - who really cares, - - - right?

So, what else is new?

Well, let me give you a clue - - - we should CELEBRATE!!!

That's right, - - - this is a time for FAMILY, - - - for grand parades, fireworks, dancing, barbeques and picnics!!!

Why?

Because this coming Saturday will be two hundred thirty years since the Continental Congress officially changed the name of our nation from "The United Colonies" to "The United States", on 09 September 1776.

Ain't that a reason to party hearty?

Certainly, we must let the children know, because they sure as Sam Hill ain't going to learn it in no "politically correct" public school!

Now, there's yet another cause for celebration in September.

Two hundred nineteen years ago, on 17 September 1787, our divinely inspired "CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", which allegedly is supposed to be the supreme law of our land (I have my doubts), was signed.

It's made even more special this year because the anniversary is on the Sabbath, thereby invoking solemn religious observance at church, as well as family fun in the backyard or city park.

Again, this is an important part of our national heritage which we must pass on to the children.

Where else are they going to learn - - - in a public school?

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!

You know, it's a real irony, for I received my education in a public school.

But, that was before teachers and students weren't permitted to discuss the Bible or Jesus Christ in class.

My seventh grade teacher was the wife of a Baptist minister, and you should have seen HER classes!

I'm glad I was in her class, for I really learned a lot.

That was when Confederate heroes were still regarded as heroes.

I remember running home from school every afternoon to watch "THE GRAY GHOST" on television.

You DO know who the "Gray Ghost" was, don't you?

He was Colonel John Singleton Mosby, an attorney in Virginia, organizer of Mosby's Raiders, one of the greatest American heroes who ever lived.

One particulary amusing (and TRUE!) story is when Colonel Mosby's men attacked a picnic.

Nobody was injured, but Colonel Mosby's men ate ice cream and danced with the ladies.

Following the surrender of Confederate forces, Colonel Mosby became the United States ambassador to Hong Kong.

My boyhood schooling was when we still had the "Pledge of Allegiance" and "The Lord's Prayer" every morning.

That was when EVERY boy carried a pocketknife.

That was when the high school R.O.T.C. drilled with M-1 Garand rifles, and they also received marksmanship training.

So, are we really better off today?

Anyway, them there's some thoughts and suggestions.

Yeah, I'm using bad grammar, but it's for the benefit of my sister, who just retired from being a schoolmarm, and has now published her FIRST book!

I'm so proud of her!

Thank you.
