MCDONALD VERSUS CHICAGO
Please click on the following link to read and analyze the decision:
SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES
CASE NUMBER: 08-1521
MCDONALD, ET ALII VERSUS CITY OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, ET ALII
The following comment was my published response to this REPORT in the Monday 28 June 2010 issue of the DESERET NEWS newspaper in Salt Lake City, Utah:
"Greetings:
I'm glad the Supreme Court of the United States, in Case Number 08-1521, "McDonald, Et Alii Versus City of Chicago, Illinois, Et Alii", has upheld an inalienable right of individual citizens that is guaranteed by our divinely inspired Constitution of the United States.
But, it really doesn't matter what the Court's ruling was.
The bottom line is this:
The right of a private citizen to wear a fully loaded firearm on their person wherever they go is an INALIENABLE right.
The reason that specific inalienable right is guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States, which restricts the powers of government, is so we, the people, will always have the practical means to rise up in armed rebellion against despotic tyrants within our own government.
Thank you.

Movie Critique: "VALKYRIE"
Greetings and Salutations to All my Kith and Kin and All the Ships in Outer Space: I just now watched the movie,"VALKYRIE", starring Tom Cruise, in high definition on my cable television. This is one of those RARE contemporary cinematic treats from Hollywood! It's an edge of your seat, macho, military, "GUY" flick, filled with continuous action and suspense that is clean enough for the whole family to enjoy watching together! That's right, folks, - - - as difficult as it may seem to believe, there was NO gratuitous sex, nudity, or profanity in that movie! And yes, it has the right lessons for your young'uns to learn, all about personal sacrifice, duty, honor, and integrity, against impossible odds. In fact, when you think about it, this movie actually portrays an uncanny parallel between the situation in Germany back then, and the Constitutional crisis America currently faces. So, gather 'round all the young'uns, and have them snuggle up together with Mama and Daddy on the big comfy couch, or sprawl out on the living room rug with the dogs and cats, as you enjoy your pizza and hot dogs. This movie has my HIGHEST recommendation! Pass the popcorn, please. Thank you. VISITING MY PARENT'S GRAVES
********************************

For the best effect, please be sure and watch this slide show in "FULL SCREEN" mode.
A few days ago, I drove down to Spring Lake, North Carolina to visit Mama's and Daddy's graves in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
I stopped at the Wal-Mart store and bought red flowers and an American flag to decorate the graves.
The yellow flowers had been placed there several days earlier by my stepmother, Alma Capps Mallernee, who lives in nearby Fayetteville, and the small United States flag was probably placed there (by the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post?) on Memorial Day.
The teddy bear with one eye missing was a Christmas gift that my sister, Suzy, had given me, and the books are children's novels that she wrote.
As soldiers in the United States Army, my father and I both served in the One Hundred and First Airborne Division, and when we were in Korea, we both served in the Eighth Army, so I put those unit insignia shoulder patches on his grave marker.
Then, I played my guitar and sang a few songs for them.

A BIG SURPRISE AT THE TEA PARTY ! ! !
THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER
By: FRANCIS SCOTT KEY
1814, Fort McHenry, Maryland
Oh, say, can you see,
By the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed
At the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars,
Through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched,
Were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare,
The bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still there.
Oh say, does that star spangled
Banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free
And the home of the brave?
On the shore dimly seen
Through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host
In dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze,
O'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals,
Half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam
Of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected,
Now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star spangled banner:
Oh, long may it wave
O'er the land of the free
And the home of the brave!
And where is that band
Who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war
And the battle's confusion
A home and a country
Should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out
Their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save
The hireling and slave
From the terror of flight
Or the gloom of the grave:
And the star spangled banner
In triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free
And the home of the brave.
Oh, thus be it ever
When freemen shall stand,
Between their loved homes
And the war's desolation;
Blest with victory and peace,
May the heaven rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made
And preserved us a nation!
Then conquer, we must,
When our cause, it is just,
And this be our motto:
"In God is our trust"
And the star spangled banner
In triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free
And the home of the brave!
RARELY SEEN CHOO CHOO TRAIN

This video recording of a rarely seen (I have NEVER seen one!) Norfolk Southern Office Car Special passenger train was recorded in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by "Eric" on Monday 31 May 2010, who posted it on the YOU TUBE web site on Saturday 05 June 2010.
Notice that the vintage "F" model diesel locomotive has been modernized with ditch lights, and the classic oscillating headlamp has apparently been disposed of.

Movie Critique: "BEDTIME STORIES"
Greetings and Salutations to All my Kith and Kin and All the Ships in Outer Space: Parents, when is the last time you read your children a bedtime story, or made up a story to tell them? I just now finished watching a high definition version on my Proview RX-276 twenty-seven inch LCD television, of the Walt Disney movie, "BEDTIME STORIES", starring Adam Sandler, which aired on the ENCORE Movie Channel, and which I had recorded on the digital video recording chip in my Comcast cable television control box. From watching this movie, we learn a few of life's valuable lessons. Fairy tales really DO come true, the sky actually does rain gumballs, cherry red Ferrari convertibles are FREE (well, sort of), a guy gets kissed by the booger monster, and stories have happy endings (well, that is, - - - they're SUPPOSED to have "happy endings"!). Yeah, getting KISSED by a BOOGER monster! Imagine that? To make things really perfect, the movie even includes a cameo of a passing choo choo train (with a hobo in the boxcar!), and you just KNOW what a rabid fanatic I am about railroad trains! Well, this is a fun movie for the entire family to enjoy together. It might even inspire your young'uns to begin making up their own stories. So, gather 'round all the little ones, send out for some pizza, and dim the lights. Pass the popcorn, please. Thank you.
