Brethren and Sistren:

History has been made!

According to this OFFICIAL NEWS RELEASE, as of Friday 30 May 2014 (traditionally observed as Memorial Day in the United States of America), The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints (i.e., popularly known as the "Mormon" church) is now OFFICIALLY recognized and accepted by the government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

Pham Dung (far right), Chairman of Vietnam Government Committee for Religious Affairs, presents national certification to Hoang Van Tung, Phan Phuc Thinh and Nguyen Hoai Thanh, three Mormon leaders in the area.
As a convert (baptized Saturday 06 May 1967) in The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints serving as a soldier with the United States Army in the old Republic of Viet Nam, and years later, as a "LIFE" member of the Veterans Association for Service Activities Abroad (i.e., "VASAA"), which existed from 1982 until 1998, I feel especially blessed and honored to have had a small part in the events which led to this momentous occasion.

For the best effect, please be sure and enjoy watching, in "FULL SCREEN" mode, my slide show of historic photographs.

Thank you.

Greetings and Salutations to All my Kith and Kin and All the Ships in Outer Space:

For the best effect, please be sure and enjoy watching, in "FULL SCREEN" mode, this video recording, which was posted at the YOU TUBE web site on Sunday 10 January 2010 by the proprietor of the "RMS492" video channel, who recorded it earlier that same day, east of Los Angeles, California.

This Union Pacific Railroad stack container freight train, bound from Dallas, Texas to Long Beach, California was 18,061 feet long, or 3.42 miles, and weighed 15,498 tons.

Naturally, I awarded this video recording, "FIVE STARS", the highest viewer rating possible at the YOU TUBE web site.

Thank you.
