Thursday 04 April 1968

Greetings and Salutations to All my Kith and Kin and All the Ships in Outer Space:

I wrote this in response to a query at the ANN COULTER OFFICIAL CHAT web site about where I was and what I was doing when Martin Luther King was assassinated on Thursday 04 April 1968.

At the time of Martin Luther King's murder, I was a Private in the United States Army, and having only just completed my Basic Combat Training at Fort Lewis, Washington, was attending the Field Radio Relay and Carrier Equipment Repair (MOS 31 L 20) course at the United States Army Southeastern Signal School at Fort Gordon, Georgia.

All soldiers were immediately restricted to post, as the Negroes were rioting in many of America's cities, including Augusta, Georgia, the community adjacent to Fort Gordon.

As the decades have passed, the more I learn of Martin Luther King, the more I despise him and everything he represents.

He and his ilk were responsible for fomenting and aggravating most of the continuing racial strife during the Viet Nam War.

When I was a kid growing up during the Civil Rights Movement in a segregated White community in North Carolina, I applauded the idea of racial integration.

After all, who can argue with the logic that all men are brothers and all races are the same, right?

Well, today, a half century later, I think we made a terrible mistake.

In our idealistic efforts to correct one perceived social injustice, we created a far greater evil, that of subverting (forever?) our inalienable rights and our sacred
Constitution of the United States
.

The alleged purpose of forced racial integration was to improve the lot of American Negroes.

But, the effort backfired, and the result has been the opposite extreme.

Today, after generations of forced racial integration, White folks (who used to be clearly different) act just as immoral, ignorant, illiterate, slovenly, discourteous, uncivil, perverted, lawless, and violent as the American Negroes.

Also, if racial integration was such a noble ideal, then why was it necessary to FORCE it on society, using federal marshals, court orders, and federal troops?

I live in the very middle of a megalopolis where Blacks are the overwhelming numerical majority, and Blacks are in control of every aspect of daily life.

The Black community continues to live down to the worst of their embarrassingly negative stereotype.

It is gunfire and sirens every single day and night, and the
District of Columbia, our nation's capital, more closely resembles the war torn ruins of a Third World slum.

That's your legacy of Martin Luther King, and others like him.

Furthermore, many facts have been deliberately concealed or misconstrued, and the full story is yet to be revealed.

Thank you.
