Thursday 11 November 2010 is Veterans Day.

As it is a VERY special national holiday, in accordance with tradition, all parades, ceremonies, observances, or celebrations are to begin at exactly the Eleventh Hour on the Eleventh Day of the Eleventh Month, for that is when the Armistice took effect which concluded the First World War.

Having Veterans Day activities on any other day or at any other time is inappropriate.

Memorial Day and Veterans Day are NOT synonymous!

On Memorial Day, we remember our military war dead.

But, on Veterans Day, we honor the living military veteran.

It is a fitting and proper occasion for military veterans, when appearing in public, to dress up in their Sunday best and wear their military decorations on their civilian suits.
