MY NETFLIX IMPRESSIONS

********************************
********************************

For the past few months, I've been a subscriber to the NETFLIX movie web site.

I really like being able to watch all the movies I want to, commercial free, either at the web site, or on DVDs they send me via "snail" mail.

I only pay eleven dollars each month for this service.

I no longer subscribe to cable television, for why pay all that money when after surfing through literally hundreds of channels (including a load of channels you never wanted, but were forced on you anyway), you STILL can't find anything worth watching?

But, everything isn't perfect at NETFLIX.

Often, when watching a movie that's being streamed from their web site, the sound level will be too low, and I can't understand the dialogue.

That doesn't happen with their DVD movies, but it's a recurring problem at their web site.

Also, they impose "politically correct" censorship on viewer's movie reviews.

When writing a review, negative comments about homosexuals or Negroes are not permitted.

Many popular movies are not in the NETFLIX library, such as "SONG OF THE SOUTH", or the television series, "THE GRAY GHOST".

However, they do have the movie, "THE BIRTH OF A NATION", so go figure.

In my opinion, the movies made prior to Nineteen Sixty are FAR superior to movies made after Nineteen Sixty.

So, I really enjoy watching the classic films, which were made WITHOUT any sex, nudity, or profanity, and there was no apology for being White, Christian, and American.

The biggest problem with NETFLIX is that they currently have no competition, and so, they can do anything they want to.

However, that MAY soon change, as a brand new movie web site, ZEDIVA, is currently in the process of soliciting prospective customers.

Even so, I'm guessing they will also impose censorship of its members opinions and compel everyone to observe the constraints of "political correctness", for that is pretty much universal throughout the World Wide Web.

The bottom line is that if you enjoy watching movies as much as I do, you'll probably enjoy subscribing to NETFLIX, for the positives outweigh the negatives.
