On this, the Fifteenth day of August, in the year, Nineteen Forty-Two, the One Hundred and First Airborne Division "Screaming Eagles" was officially activated at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana.

SCREAMING EAGLES ! ! !
I am proud to have served in the Republic of Viet Nam with the 501st Signal Battalion of the 101st Airborne Division, and I'm briefly mentioned in the 1995 edition of the book, "101ST AIRBORNE DIVISION 'SCREAMING EAGLES'", by Colonel Robert E. Jones, which is no longer in print.
My father, a veteran of the Second World War and the Korean War, was part of the cadre at Camp Breckinridge, in the Commonwealth of Kentucky when the 101st Airborne Division was reactivated in 1948.
