MOVIE CRITIQUE: "BABY'S DAY OUT"

********************************

Greetings and Salutations to All my Kith and Kin and All the Ships in Outer Space:

Since contemporary feature length Hollywood motion picture productions are increasingly pornographic, when I do see one of those rare films that are clean enough for the whole family to enjoy watching together, I like to alert everyone to its existence.

I just finished watching the movie, "BABY'S DAY OUT", which I had recorded from the Home Box Office channel on my Comcast cable television digital recording chip.

"BABY'S DAY OUT", made in 1994, is a hilarious slapstick romp that will have everyone in the family roaring with laughter.

Imagine three (03) grown men kidnapping a nine (09) month old baby.

That sounds pretty ominous, doesn't it?

Ah, but not so fast, eh?

THIS movie was written and produced by John Hughes, the same guy who gave us "HOME ALONE" and "DENNIS THE MENACE".

Well, I won't ruin the plot for you by telling you any more.

There is even a scene in the movie of elderly veterans living in the Old Soldiers' Home, and they sing, "THIS IS THE ARMY, MR. JONES", to the baby.

So, send out for some pizza, gather 'round your young'uns, pile up on the big comfy couch, turn down the lights, and roll the film.

Pass the popcorn, please.

Thank you.
