*********************************************************** Greetings and Salutations to All my Kith and Kin and All the Ships in Outer Space: I just finished watching a high definition version of, "THE LAST LEGION", which I recorded from the Home Box Office channel on my Comcast cable television digital video recorder. This is a grrrrrREAT movie!!! It's clean enough for the whole family to watch together. The only thing that might be objectionable was a man and woman, both of them fully clothed, crawling in bed together and promising each other they'd always stay together. Parents might have to explain that scene to innocent children. But, then, parents should never let their children watch movies unaccompanied and unsupervised, should they? After all, Hollywood has repeatedly demonstrated that they are abysmally unreliable in matters of depicting morality and traditional Christian family values in contemporary creative productions. Watching movies should be a pleasurable FAMILY activity. This movie is a retelling of the legend of King Arthur, Merlin, the magician, and the sword, Excaliber. It's about the fall of Rome, and the adventures of its twelve year old emperor. It's definitely "guy" stuff, with lots of edge of your seat suspense, and bloody gory hand to hand sword fighting, as valiant warriors selflessly battle overwhelming enemy forces to uphold noble and virtuous ideals. It's the kind of stuff you want your kids to learn, and the kind of role models you'd want adults to act as. Yes, I very highly recommend this movie for the whole family. So, grab the little ones, snuggle up on the big comfy couch, send out for pizza, and dim the lights. Pass the popcorn, please. Thank you. John Robert Mallernee
