ENGLISH VOCABULARY DETERIORATION

*****************************
*****************************
I just saw a news report which got my attention, because in the article, an individual's misuse of English was quoted, which now compels me to mount a soapbox and rant.

It really bothers me to see these same common mistakes in our English vocabulary repeated over and over, ad nauseum, ad infinitum.

Do you know the difference between "flaunt" and "flout"?

Do you know the difference between "affect" and "effect"?

Do you know the difference between "wreak" and "wreck"?

Do you know the difference between "its" and "it's"?

Do you know the difference between "who's" and "whose"?

Do you know the difference between "who" and "whom"?

Do you know the difference between "to", "too", and "two"?

Do you know the difference between "your" and "you're"?

Do you know the difference between "there", "their", and "they're"?

Do you know the difference between "sex" and "gender"?

Do you know to say, "regardless", and not say, "irregardless"?

Do you know to say, "iterate", and not say, "reiterate"?

What is the grammatically CORRECT definition of "African-American"?

What is the grammatically CORRECT definition of "Native American"?

Folks, this is BASIC stuff!

Once again, I trace the deterioration of society's contemporary literacy standards back to the unconstitutional ruling rendered on Monday 17 May 1954 in the matter of "BROWN VERSUS BOARD OF EDUCATION".

Using federal marshals and military bayonets, our own government blatantly violated the Constitution of the United States of America to FORCE all communities and institutions to racially integrate.

In order to accommodate the American negro, all institutions had to lower standards of intelligence, literacy, conduct, civility, courtesy, deportment, personal appearance, and morality.

Over time, these lowered standards have resulted in a collateral deterioration for everybody, including white people.

Thus, we have our current situation, perpetuating ignorance, even to the point of fulfilling Biblical prophecy warning of those who would "call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"

Shall we continue to passively acquiesce as our language, culture, history, and heritage is corrupted by those who wish to see our total destruction?
