"THE FIGHTING SEABEES"

One of the benefits of residing at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport, Mississippi is the assistance we get from the many volunteers at the nearby Naval Construction Battalion Center.

Armed Forces Retirement Home
Gulfport, Mississippi
Our liaison with the Seabee base is Master Chief Petty Officer Ron Kartz, who is assigned to the Armed Forces Retirement Home as an advocate, or ombudsman, for the residents.

When I first arrived here, young Seabees swarmed around me, eagerly lifting and hauling my duffel bags, suitcases, and guitar from the cargo bed of my pickup truck to my new quarters on the Third Floor of the Central Tower.

Well , since we're now giving proper respect to the Seabees - - - ,

Boy, oh boy, oh boy, let's watch a movie!

For the best effect, please be sure and enjoy watching this DOUBLE FEATURE of, "THE FIGHTING SEABEES", PLUS an official United States Navy training film in "FULL SCREEN" mode.

For an additional treat, after the movie(s), please scroll down the page to view the slide show of my photographs of the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport, Mississippi, which, for the best effect, I also recommend you watch in "FULL SCREEN" mode.

This 1944 Hollywood major motion picture production, "THE FIGHTING SEABEES", starring John Wayne and Susan Hayward, was posted at the YOU TUBE web site on Tuesday 15 February 2011 by Jeff Duce, who resides in Maniwaki, Quebec, Canada.
