Ed's old friend, Peter Dounis, bids farewell.

Ed and I had both served in the Phu Lam Signal Battalion in the old Republic of Viet Nam, although not at the same time.

Thus, at his viewing, I placed a First Signal Brigade shoulder insignia on the right lapel of his coat.

First Sergeant Miller, a relative of Ed's, placed a souvenir deployment challenge coin in Ed's hand.

Together, First Sergeant Miller and I solemnly rendered a final military salute.

Ed's Relatives

At Ed's funeral in the Stanley Hall Chapel of the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington, D.C., everyone in the congregation was greatly amused when, after a hymn was sung, four year old Colin yelled, "Yay!"
