DISAPPOINTED ! ! !

Today was the birthday of GEORGE WASHINGTON, and our mess hall here at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport, Mississippi did NOT serve cherry pie for dessert!

When I was a kid growing up, we ALWAYS had cherry pie on George Washington's birthday.

Not even our Navy Exchange had stocked up on any cherry pies to sell.

I doubt any of these folks here even knew it was George Washington's birthday.

The official Great Seal of the Confederate States of America depicts George Washington mounted on a horse.

George Washington was NOT the first president of the United States of America (that was Samuel Huntington), but he was the first president of our Republic.

Today was also the birthday of Lord Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell, who founded the Boy Scout movement.

Here, for your further enlightenment, is an educational video about the FORGOTTEN FOUNDERS of the United States of America, which, for the best effect, I urge you to enjoy watching in "FULL SCREEN" mode.
