"DOING THE BEST I CAN"

Greetings and Salutations to All my Kith and Kin and All the Ships in Outer Space:

For the best effect, please be sure to enjoy watching, in "FULL SCREEN" mode, my homemade amateur video recording of ME (!), performing, by ear, the Elvis Presley hit record, "DOING THE BEST I CAN", from the Hollywood motion picture, "G.I. BLUES", as I accompany myself by strumming simple chords on my Yamaha G-130A classical guitar.

"DOING THE BEST I CAN"

COMPOSER(S) UNKNOWN
( i.e. - - - , unknown to me)

VERSE # 01:
I gave my heart, I gave my love.
Oh, my darling, my love is true.
Doing the best, the best I can.
But, it's not good enough for you.

VERSE # 02:
I tried so hard, so hard to please.
Oh, my darling, what more can I do?
Doing the best, the best I can.
But, it's not good enough for you.

BRIDGE:
You know I was the kind who'd run
Any time you'd call.
I guess I was the only one
Who didn't mind at all.

VERSE # 03:
I'll be a dreamer, I'll be a fool,
Oh, my darling, my whole life through.
Doing the best, the best I can.
But, it's not good enough for you.

One of the reasons I like the movie, "G.I. BLUES", so much, is because in 1968 and 1969, I was a Private First Class, trained as a Field Radio Relay and Carrier Equipment Repairman (MOS 31L20), in the United States Army, stationed at Kleber Kaserne in Kaiserslautern, Germany with Company "A" of the 11th Air Defense Signal Battalion of the 32d Army Air Defense Command, with the majority of my time assigned to Repair Team A-2 at Spangdahlem Air Force Base.

Thank you.
