Brethren and Sistren:

History has been made!

According to this OFFICIAL NEWS RELEASE, as of Friday 30 May 2014 (traditionally observed as Memorial Day in the United States of America), The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints (i.e., popularly known as the "Mormon" church) is now OFFICIALLY recognized and accepted by the government of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

Pham Dung (far right), Chairman of Vietnam Government Committee for Religious Affairs, presents national certification to Hoang Van Tung, Phan Phuc Thinh and Nguyen Hoai Thanh, three Mormon leaders in the area.
As a convert (baptized Saturday 06 May 1967) in The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints serving as a soldier with the United States Army in the old Republic of Viet Nam, and years later, as a "LIFE" member of the Veterans Association for Service Activities Abroad (i.e., "VASAA"), which existed from 1982 until 1998, I feel especially blessed and honored to have had a small part in the events which led to this momentous occasion.

For the best effect, please be sure and enjoy watching, in "FULL SCREEN" mode, my slide show of historic photographs.

Thank you.
