Free Scottish Music!

Greetings and Salutations to All my Kith and Kin and All the Ships in Outer Space:

While searching on the Internet for something else, I just discovered a bonanza of Scottish songs you can download into your computer FREE!

Of course, you can also listen to them without putting them permanently on your hard drive.

It's your choice.

Anyway, here are two (02) web sites I discovered, and here's how you save the songs to your hard drive.

The first web site is the Glasgow Phoenix Choir.

The second web site is that of Margaret Donaldson.

At her web site, just click on "Songs", and then you can start downloading.

At the Glasgow Phoenix Choir's web site, it ain't gonna be that simple.

You're going to have to do a little work, in order to find all the songs that are available to be downloaded.

So, click on "RECORDINGS", and then click on either "ALL AVAILABLE RECORDINGS" or "DISCONTINUED RECORDINGS".

Then, you must click on each of the albums.

Not all of the albums have songs that can be downloaded.

After all, they are in business, and they would prefer to make a little money, don't you think?

Whenever you see a song with an icon of a loudspeaker next to it, that means you can either listen or copy the song.

I must warn you now, that the recording of "ANNIE LAURIE" is messed up, and only plays halfway.

So, don't even bother with that one.

Some songs are in "wma" format, and other songs are in "asf" format.

So make sure your computer's media player is set to play those.

To listen to songs on the web sites, just left click on the icon with your mouse.

If you want to copy the song, then RIGHT click with your mouse, and select "SAVE TARGET AS" from the pop up menu.

At this point, before clicking the "SAVE" button, you may want to rename the file, which is what I do, so it's easier to recognize.

Also, instead of merely saving everything to the "MY DOCUMENTS" folder or the "MUSIC" folder, I recommend creating new folders, and naming them, "GLASGOW PHOENIX CHOIR" and "MARGARET DONALDSON".

That's how I did it.

Nifty, huh?

Thank you.
