Greetings and Salutations to All my Kith and Kin and All the Ships in Outer Space:
For the most enjoyable effect, please be sure and watch each of these embedded video recordings in "FULL SCREEN" mode, and to view a larger version, please click on each of the photographs, and/or go to the official web sites of the United States Army and "D-DAY 1944".
My father was there, serving in the United States Army, but he arrived several days after D-Day.
Up until the day he passed away, he said little or nothing of what he saw or did there.
During the Second World War, my stepmother also served in the United States Army.
When I was a Private First Class in the United States Army, and landed in the old Republic of Viet Nam, I was one (01) year younger than my father was when he landed on the beach in Normandy.
Here in my comfortably furnished private room, with its fantastic view, located on the Seventh Floor of the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport, Mississippi, I'm going to spend this day snacking on hot dogs and/or burgers fresh from the grill in our mess hall, all washed down with my Clan Henderson large pewter tankard full of ice cold Barq's root beer, while I watch my DVD of the major Hollywood motion picture production, "SAVING PRIVATE RYAN", and/or my complete DVD set of the Home Box Office series, "BAND OF BROTHERS".
Ahhhh, but life is goooo-OOD ! ! !
Thank you.
