Greetings and Salutations to All my Kith and Kin and All the Ships in Outer Space: Do you enjoy movies? I love watching movies, probably too much, for in watching movies, I neglect my music rehearsals, and I don't get any physical exercise. Now that I'm retired, and with the added advantage of access to the Internet, I can watch movies constantly, and even enjoy old television series. But, I've noticed one thing. Movies and television shows that were made many years ago are MUCH better than the movies and television shows that are made today. Why is that? Shouldn't art have evolved and improved over the passage of time? The old classic movies and television shows entertained, and were clean enough for family entertainment. But, it seems as if all contemporary movies are required(?) to include scenes of nudity and sex, regardless of whether it has any bearing on the story, and of course, profane language is another necessity for modern film productions, with plenty of casual misuse of "God", "Jesus", or "Christ". Also, it seems that contemporary movie and television shows are not intended to entertain, but are instruments of government approved "politically correct" propaganda, with a subliminal or blatant political and/or social conditioning message always included. The stories are almost always slanted to mock and/or apologize for traditional American values and Christian family morality, and yes, an anti-white racial bias is ever present. Has Hollywood completely stopped making Western shoot-em up bang bang cowboy and Indian movies? What happened to the Broadway musical comedies, with songs that everybody could easily memorize and sing? By the way, the deterioration of music is yet another bone of contention, for the "golden oldie" melodies of yesteryear are far superior to virtually anything produced today. Country music is NOT country! To my knowledge, there hasn't been any Country songs recorded in Nashville since - - - the 'Sixties? Rock 'n' Roll? I remember Rock 'n' Roll when it was young and good, and fun, and done by white people. Anyone could understand the lyrics, and even sing along. But, alas, those days are long gone. Will we ever get them back? Will we ever clean up Hollywood and Nashville? Thank you. I look up
And I see God.
I look down
And see my dog.
Simple spelling,
"G - O - D";
Same word backwards,
"D - O - G".
They would stay
With me all day.
I'm the one
Who walks away.
But, both of them
Just wait for me
And dance at
My return with glee.
Both love me,
No matter what;
Divine god
And canine mutt.
I take it hard
Each time I fail.
But, God forgives.
Dog wags his tail.
God thought up
And made the dog.
Dog reflects
A part of God.
I've seen love
From both sides now.
It's everywhere.
Amen, bow wow.
I look up
And I see God.
I look down
And see my dog,
And in my
Human frailty,
I can't match
Their love for me.

The KILTED CAR WASH, held on Saturday 27 August 2011 in the shopping center parking lot at the corner of Pass Road and Beauvoir Road in Biloxi, Mississippi, was a fundraising effort by the Highlands and Islands Organization, to help finance the annual Highlands and Islands Scottish Games and Celtic Music Festival, to be held at the Harrison County Fairgrounds in Gulfport, Mississippi on Saturday 12 November 2011 and Sunday 13 November 2011. Also, the FACEBOOK social networking web site was used as a means of communicating and organizing the "Kilted Car Wash". Yes, I wore my own kilt, and even took my guitar and sang a few songs, "BOTH SIDES THE TWEED", "ANNIE LAURIE", "GRACE", "MY OWN NATIVE LAND", "CITY OF NEW ORLEANS", "TAMMY", and "COLORADO TRAIL". The kids were especially intrigued that "GRACE" was a true story, and they were very interested in the fact that the gun battle took place in the post office! I also helped out a little bit by standing out by the street, holding up a sign advertising the Kilted Car Wash. Naturally, my own pickup truck got washed, and I did my small part to try and help them out financially. Two or three folks drove up just to make a financial contribution, without getting a car wash. Maybe this "KILTED CAR WASH" fundraiser is something our clan might want to consider in the future? MY NEW VEHICLE WINDOW FLAGS
Offical Bard of Clan Henderson
Gulfport, Mississippi 39507
NOTE: "My unpopular and controversial personal opinions do not represent my Scottish clan." ___________________________ NOTICE: Unfortunately, the vehicle flags which I purchased from the ROCKY MOUNTAIN FLAG COMPANY can't be used on my 2004 Ford F-150 XLT pickup truck because the plastic flagstaffs are canted incorrectly, making the flags lean over the cab roof instead of outward from the cab roof. ___________________________ ___________________________ UPDATE: I just received a new order of Vehicle Window Flags from the ROCKY MOUNTAIN FLAG COMPANY, and this time, ALL of the flagstaffs for each of the Vehicle Window Flags were properly canted in the right direction. My new package of Vehicle Window Flags consisted of six (06) Confederate Army of Tennessee flags (in honor of my Confederate ancestor), two (02) Gadsden flags, a State of Utah flag, a United States Army flag, a 101st Airborne Division flag (the unit I served with during the war), and a Kingdom of Denmark flag (the homeland of my biological maternal grandparents). ___________________________ *************************************** *************************************** |

"SCOTTISH SOLDIERS" By: John Robert Mallernee Bard of Clan Henderson Tuesday 16 August 2011 0850 Hours Scottish soldiers Looking fine. Royal Highlanders On the line. Those Scottish soldiers Look so well, But Scottish soldiers Are sent to Hell. Though Scottish soldiers Are stoutly grown, Yet Scotland's soldiers Are not their own, For British union Has its fee, And Scotland's country Is not yet free. Thus, Scottish soldiers Are at England's call To fight wherever They're sent to fall. Scotland's soldiers Are the best Sent by England To face each test. Scottish soldiers Through many years Have shed their blood And hid their fears. So, on they go, Fierce and bold, And by a bard, Their tale is told. ********* WARNING ! ! ! ********* This dangerously illegal and immoral subversive underground resistance message is being surreptitiously monitored by the Beaming Internet Government Broadband Radio Oscillation Telecommunications Hearing Electronic Reconnaissance (i.e., B.I.G. Serious felony criminal charges are pending, with extreme penalties yet to be determined! **************************** "AR CANAIN AGUS AR CEOL" (OUR LANGUAGE AND OUR MUSIC) I've found a new resource for studying our Gaelic language which is FREE, and it's also very easy. Here is the web site URL where you can download it - - - , At that web site, select "SCOTTISH". Yes, that's incorrect, for most of us know that "Scottish" and "Gaelic" are two different languages, with no relationship to each other. But, that's how this firm markets the Gaelic language course, as "Scottish"! Naturally, they're in the business of making money, so they'll want you to purchase their more advanced course. But, you can still go ahead and download the free basic course to your computer's hard drive, which is what I did. Incorrectly using the words, "Scottish" and "Gaelic" interchangably makes me think of all the folks who go around improperly displaying Scotland's "Rampant Lion" flag when only the "Saltire" should be flown. As many of you are already aware, the "Rampant Lion" banner (i.e., the red lion on the yellow background) is ONLY supposed to be shown when a member of Scotland's royal family, or their designated representative, is personally present. Otherwise, the only proper flag to be displayed is the "Saltire" (i.e., the white cross of Saint Andrew on the sky blue background). It's what I've been flying from the window of my pickup truck. By the way, do you have any idea how difficult it is to purchase a Saltire for your car window? Very few flag companies sell them. I bought mine from a web site in Scotland, and since then, I've found ONE (01) flag company in the United States that sells the Scottish car window flag. Now, for a bit more about our language - - - , As some of you may remember from my previous reports in "AN CANACH", my favorite Gaelic language course, bar none, was the "SPEAKING OUR LANGUAGE" course, which a buddy in Idaho gave to me on a CD. Unfortunately, when I got my new computer, that software was too outdated to run on it, so I'd pretty much given up on ever again learning from that resource. Well, I have now learned that the ENTIRE course of "SPEAKING OUR LANGUAGE" is available on DVD and CD ROM. Here are the web site URLs where the various components of this course are for sale - - - , https://lsh507.securepod.com/gaelicbooks.org/merchantmanager/product_info.php?products_id=795 https://lsh507.securepod.com/gaelicbooks.org/merchantmanager/product_info.php?products_id=810 https://lsh507.securepod.com/gaelicbooks.org/merchantmanager/product_info.php?products_id=1240 https://lsh507.securepod.com/gaelicbooks.org/merchantmanager/product_info.php?products_id=71 https://lsh507.securepod.com/gaelicbooks.org/merchantmanager/product_info.php?products_id=92 https://lsh507.securepod.com/gaelicbooks.org/merchantmanager/product_info.php?products_id=74 https://lsh507.securepod.com/gaelicbooks.org/merchantmanager/product_info.php?products_id=75 But, it ain't cheap! It's available for purchase on the Internet from Scotland, and British pounds are worth a whole lot more than American dollars, so - - - , I'm guessing this entire course, with all the extra bells and whistles added on, is going to cost an estimated grand total of $175.91, maybe even more by the time this article is published. How do you like them there apples, huh? But, I reckon if you're willing to spend the money, it would be well worth it, for I haven't seen an easier or more effective method of learning the Gaelic language, except of course, those vacation packages where you go to Scotland and actually live in the home of a Highland family. Now, as for our music - - - , Having only recently moved to Mississippi, I was curious about what Scottish and Celtic music programs are being aired locally. This place IS different. In North Carolina, where I grew up, all of the locations have Scottish names. But, here on the southernmost tip of Mississippi, right on the Gulf of Mexico, the names of the locations are either French or American Indian, and the people and culture are predominantly Cajun and Creole. In searching the Internet, I did find a local radio station that broadcasts my old favorite, "THE THISTLE AND SHAMROCK", each Sunday night. Next, I looked for a web site where I could listen to the broadcast, and I found a bunch of them. Not only that, but many of the broadcasts are archived, so you can listen to them later on. Here is the web site of "THE THISTLE AND SHAMROCK" radio program - - - , Actually, if you search the Internet, you'll find many web sites where you can listen to, and/or purchase Celtic and Scottish music. I have purchased MANY albums from the GREEN LINNET web site, and can highly recommend them. For those who are interested, there's an EXCELLENT video presentation from Scottish Television about the Scots-Irish in America, "BORN FIGHTING", which you can see at this web site, but ONLY if you have the free VEOH media player downloaded and installed on your computer - - - , I posted the video on my own web site, but Scottish Television, which owns the rights to it, has blocked anyone outside of the British Isles from watching it at my web site. However, for some odd reason, you can still watch it free at the VEOH web site, and of course, you can purchase the DVD from the AMAZON web site. It's an excellent program! I well remember as a boy growing up in North Carolina how folks would say their ancestors were "Scotch-Irish", and I had no idea what they were talking about. Thirty |

WEARING YOUR TARTAN KILT
***********************************************************
***********************************************************
Greetings and Salutations to All my Kith and Kin and All the Ships in Outer Space:
For the best effect, please be sure to watch, in "FULL SCREEN" mode, these instructive video recordings.
I purchased my kilt here in the United States of America, from J. Higgins, Ltd. as import duties from Scotland can greatly increase the original purchase price.
For anyone who is not part of a Scottish clan, but would still like to wear a tartan kilt, there ARE officially approved tartan designs for almost anyone!
For instance, there is a national tartan for the United States of America, and several other nations, including - - - the good ol' CONFEDERATE States of America!!!
There is a military tartan for the United States Army, as well as each of the other branches of America's military services, and there are tartan kilts for police and firefighters.
A kilt is ideal for wear at formal occasions, celebrations, parades, and patriotic events.
Because kilt outfits can be expensive, the most economical and practical all-purpose outfit is the Argyll jacket with a semi-formal sporran.
As for myself, I choose to wear ordinary street shoes instead of the more traditional Ghillies.
When attired in the Highland kilt, it is customary for military veterans to wear their decorations on their jacket.
After all, by tradition, each Highland clan is its own military unit, and the tartan kilt has ever been a military uniform worn by male warriors of the clan.
So, don't be forgetting your sword!
Thank you.
John Robert Mallernee
