FROM MOBILE TO NEW ORLEANS

******************************
******************************

Two (02) CSX locomotives pull a mixed manifest freight train, heading West on the old Louisville and Nashville Railroad tracks, which run North and South between Mobile, Alabama and New Orleans, Louisiana, at approximately 0900 Hours on Wednesday 29 February 2012, at the Anniston Avenue crossing in Gulfport, Mississippi.

I recorded this, looking due North from the Northwest corner of the Armed Forces Retirement Home, using my hand held Kodak "Easy Share" Z710 zoom lens digital camera, which has 7.10 megapixels of resolution.

Above is a photograph of CSX employee Houck working on an electronic Defect Detector embedded in the track, which alerts locomotive engineers to any problems with wheels or axles as the train rolls over it.

I photographed him at approximately 0945 Hours on Wednesday 29 February 2012 on the old Louisville and Nashville Railroad tracks, just East of the Anniston Avenue crossing in Gulfport, Mississippi.
