*********************************************** *********************************************** Greetings and Salutations to All my Kith and Kin and All the Ships in Outer Space: I just now saw something posted at the FAULTLINE USA web site that might be important to YOU, if'n you own a home. I do not own a home, so this news doesn't affect me. According to information posted at the FRED THOMPSON'S AMERICA web site, if you own a home which you plan to sell, then you'd better sell it before 2013. That's because of Obama Care, or whatever they call it. If you sell your house after 2013, you have to pay a 3.8 % sales tax, even if you don't make a profit. If you do sell your house at a profit, then you also have to pay a capital gains tax in addition to the sales tax. This is for funding Obama Care. The folks who will probably be hit hardest by this are the elderly retirees who sell their homes, sometimes at a loss, in order to downsize and move into a smaller house. Anyway, that's the story. Since I don't have any money or own any real property, I don't really comprehend a lot of this stuff. So, I recommend you go straight to the source, either the FRED THOMPSON'S AMERICA web site, and/or the PATIENT PROTECTION AND AFFORDABLE CARE ACT (i.e., "Obama Care") web site, and check all this out for yourself. If you wish to share this message with others, then please be considerate of their privacy by selecting the BCC (i.e., "Blind Carbon Copy") option when addressing the e-mail to multiple recipients. Even though I can't understand everything, I figured it was important enough to let you (and others) know about it. Thank you. *********************************************** *********************************************** |
